Condon
Sea West is responsible for developing the Condon Wind farm located in central Oregon near the town of Condon. The wind
farm has a peak output of 50 megawatts. The wind farm was energized December 2001.
The power generated from the Condon Wind farm is collected at the Condon Wind Substation where the 34.5-kilovolt (kV)
collector lines are stepped up to 69-kV using a substation transformer. The 69-kV DeMoss-Fossil transmission line taps the
Condon Wind substation, joining the BPA electrical grid.
BPA provided metering, tap structures, relays, SCADA, and a communication radio link from the Condon Wind Substation
to BPA's Wasco radio station. Additionally, BPA provided remedial action scheme (RAS) service due to the limited
capability of this line.
