Shepherds Flat Wind Interconnection

Lifeline Energy has submitted a generation interconnection request to BPA to integrate electricity generated from the proposed Shepherds Flat Wind Farm in Gilliam and Morrow Counties, Ore. to the Federal Columbia River Transmission System. BPA analyzed the environmental impacts of the proposed project in a tiered Record of Decision (ROD), released in July 2008, and decided to offer contract terms to interconnect up to 846 MW of power into the federal transmission system.

To interconnect the wind project, BPA will construct a new 4-acre, 230-kilovolt yard addition to its Slatt Substation in Gilliam County, Oregon. At this time BPA does not propose to purchase any of the power produced by this wind project.

Schedule

BPA expects to begin construction in summer 2009 and complete construction as early as winter 2010.
