Operational Controls for Variable Generators BPA Transmission Services implemented automated tools and operating protocols for variable generators to limit actual wind generation to schedule or curtail e-Tags to actual generation in response to the amount of balancing reserves deployed. These tools and protocols will continuously calculate the balancing reserves deployed and send warning, limit, and curtailment messages automatically to wind plants.
